House of Cards season 6: Will renewal happen for Kevin Spacey series?
For one, this show seems to be one of the cornerstones of the entire Netflix library. When you think about the shows that are effectively responsible for bringing the streaming service to the next level, it’s both this one and Arrested Development. Before they aired, there wasn’t really any conversation about binge-watching or looking to an online provider like this for original series. Netflix has a lot of its own history within the Kevin Spacey series.
Now that this is said, the Frank Underwood story does likely have an end, just as all empires eventually do fall. This could be the time in which this happens, mostly because most scripted dramas tend to only last around six or seven seasons unless they are procedural in nature and don’t have to struggle under the weight of a story that is continuous from one episode to the next.
Ultimately, there may only be a couple of seasons left for the remainder of the series, so enjoy every little bit that the show has left. The one thing to know is that so long as it is on the air, it’s probably fair to assume that Spacey, Robin Wright, and the rest of the cast are going to go HARD in their performances as we do eventually reach that big finish line.
Ultimately, the biggest challenge that does probably exist along the way right now is for this show to figure out a proper way in which to stay ahead of the curve in terms of politics. Isn’t the truth at this point stranger than fiction? It certainly does seem that way.
Netflix could announce the future of House of Cards within the next month or two. More than likely, this is what they will want to do in order to cement its long-term fate before people start to actually worry or question its future on the air.
