Psych movie officially underway; James Roday shares look behind the scenes
One of the first photos from the show’s set in Vancouver comes courtesy of star / writer James Roday, where you can see a trailer bearing two very familiar names in Shawn and Gus. These two characters are the cornerstone of the show, in between their crime-solving, Gus’ love of food, and Shawn’s tendency to refer to Gus by all sorts of silly nicknames. There is a certain pattern to many Psych episodes, but it’s comforting in a way in an age of relative chaos.
So far, there isn’t a whole lot out there about the story itself, and it should prove interesting to see how it all comes together given that the series finale for the show ended with Juliet and Chief Vick working alongside Adrian Monk (seemingly) in San Francisco. How much of a role is Santa Barbara, the Psych Office, or everything else familiar with the show going to have? Somehow, we figure that Roday and series creator Steve Franks have figured out a way to place most of what fans want to see within the script, especially since so much of this show is based on nostalgia more so than anything.
Before signing off, let’s all send a little bit of additional love to Timothy Omundson, who is in recovery after suffering a mild stroke several weeks back. All indications are the is getting better every day, and hopefully he gets a chance to be a part of the project in due time. For now, the best thing for him is that his health continues to improve. He’s one of our favorite actors working, and all indications suggest that he is also a lovely guy.
