Gotham season 3 finale spoilers: First look at two-hour event
These two episodes are entitled “Heroes Rise: Destiny Calling” and then “Heroes Rise: Heavydirtysoul” (all one word), and they have a lot to unravel based on the details below:
“With the deadly virus spreading throughout the city, the search for the antidote continues, as Fish Mooney (guest star Jada Pinkett Smith), The Riddler and Penguin reveal plans of their own. Bruce meets Ra’s Al Ghul (guest star Alexander Siddig) and completes his last task in order to fulfill his destiny, but realizes he can’t let go of his past. Meanwhile, Gordon tries to win back Lee, and past alliances within Gotham City are broken, while new alliances are formed.”
For those wondering, Fish is not the only recurring villain you will see over the two hours, as Firefly, Victor Fries, and Hugo Strange are also going to surface at some point over the two hours. These characters are ones that could theoretically pop up at any point here or there in the future.
One name that is conveniently absent at the moment is Harley Quinn. At one point, there was conversation about planting a seed for the character in the finale; maybe that is still happening and Fox is keeping it under wraps. If not, maybe it’s something that will be around down the road. This is a show that does have such a worthy arsenal of characters that it can pick and choose from it almost whenever it wants, and there isn’t a real hurry to rush into anything — though nobody out there is probably going to dispute the popularity of the Harley character, and therefore the interest that Fox may have in getting her on the show as soon as humanly possible.
