See Dwayne Johnson SNL promo, ‘Sean Spicer’ behind the scenes
Let’s kick things off with the Dwayne Johnson SNL promo released earlier today by NBC, which is worthy of plenty of laughs as you get an opportunity to see the wrestler set some sort of world record for piggyback rides. Sure, we’re well aware that this is probably just some clever editing and the product of special effects, but it’s still fun. Probably the part that’s even better is seeing Beck Bennett attempt to carry The Rock as his own back, as the wrestler proclaims that he needs to “save his strength” for actually hosting the show itself.
While this is all sorts of silly and ridiculous, it’s a fun promo. Hopefully, this in turn sets the stage for a fun episode the rest of the way. Johnson is joining the five-timers’ club just as Melissa McCarthy did the week before, so hopefully someone is going to show up for a jacket presentation for him. (Granted, nobody did earlier this season for Scarlett Johansson.
More than anything else, the thing that would be most exciting for Johnson’s show is to see the return of his wrestler character Coco after he and Bobby Moynihan (who could be departing the show this weekend due to his new CBS show) delivered one of the greatest sketches of the past decade the last time that he was on.
More from ‘Sean Spicer’
As for some other ridiculous entertainment, look no further than the video below! This one features Melissa McCarthy filming her little jaunt in New York City, and you get an opportunity to see some behind-the-scenes highlights as she films going down the street. The thing that is actually more striking than anything is just how much joy she seems to have with the experience. This is not the sort of audience you get for a normal show; you’re out in public, and while certain people may understandably hate the impression and feel like it’s mean-spirited to their own beliefs, there are others who love it and find it a source of great comfort during a terrible, depressing time.
Rest assured, more coverage of the SNL finale will be heading your way in the coming days.
