NCIS: Los Angeles season 8 finale spoilers: Deeks – Kensi proposal ahead

Will there still be a Deeks – Kensi proposal during the NCIS: Los Angeles season 8 finale? The news should make many out there smile.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, the long-awaited engagement is still coming in the finale on Sunday! It was reported many weeks ago that it would be happening before the end of the season, but understandably some folks could still be somewhat anxiety-ridden over the prospect of it not coming to fruition. This is especially true when considering the end of this past episode, which featured the death of none other than Sam Hanna’s wife Michelle. If there was ever a time to be worried about the timing not being right, it’s when there is so much surrounding darkness.

Nonetheless, obviously the writers formulated an idea for the proposal that works for the two and celebrates the love that they have — the aforementioned report also makes it clear that there will be an opportunity to see some sort of “surprise twist” to the big moment. How that plays out remains to be seen, but it’s worthy to be aware of it entering the episode.

Does this mean that the wedding will be in store for season 8? Hopefully, since given the pace of the relationship so far it’s possible that the writers may not get to it until season 11. (That was said in jest! It’ll probably be next year since there is only so long you can make interesting sideplots surrounding wedding plans.) The journey of these two merits a fun, fantastic wedding that celebrates everything in their relationship, and then also sets up what their future could be, as well. Weddings in the end are the beginnings of something so much stronger, and there is something very interesting about the couple who works out in the field together only to come home together later in the way.

Also in the finale, prepare to see a rogue Sam Hanna, emotionally destroyed and prepared to take on any and every obstacle that lies between him and the finish line.
