Blindspot season 2 finale will be satisfying, worthwhile if series-ender
With that being said, it does appear that in the event that Jaimie Alexander – Sullivan Stapleton series is going to deliver a satisfying ending really regardless of if this season turns out to be the last one. The writers are preparing with everything in mind; specifically, here is what show creator Martin Gero had to say on the subject to TVLine:
“If this is our last season, I think everyone will be very satisfied … But if not, there’s a pretty good cliffhanger into the next season. It will be a satisfying watch either way.”
Is it a little counter-intuitive to have both a cliffhanger ending and also a satisfying series finale? We do understand why you can make that argument, but we do think in this case it’s very well possible to have both. This is a show that probably will never be tied up in a neat little bow — when you think about what Jane and Weller have been going through from start to finish, they’re in a job where there will always be threats. The best thing that they can hope for is some temporary happiness and to be able to work together successfully down the road. We know that for us as a viewer of the show, the biggest thing that we’re hoping for is that we see these moments of happiness, and then also have something that we’re left to think about. Even if the show doesn’t continue, we can leave some elements of the equation to our imagination.
It certainly seems like before we even get to the finale of Blindspot this season, there is some super-entertaining stuff coming up. For example, next week’s new episode is going to offer up a chance to see famed fighter Ronda Rousey in an especially intimidating role.
