Absentia: See first teaser for Stana Katic’s new series

What is Absentia? It’s a good question, but not one that the series seems eager to answer just yet…

Recently, the show’s official Twitter account posted the first teaser below, and within it you can hear some various sounds effects — there is something that sounds like water, and then also suggestions of panic and confusion. Beyond all of that, one question rises to the surface: “What happened to you?”

Yeah, it’s pretty clear that the show is keeping things as mysterious as possible.

Here is what we do know for now — this series is a ten-episode crime thriller coming courtesy of Sony Pictures Television Networks’ AXN. There is no U.S. network specified to air the project right now, but hopefully that will change over the coming weeks. Production’s been going on since earlier this year, and this marks the TV return for Castle alum Stana Katic (pictured above from the ABC series). With her on board, you have to assume that the demand will be there.

The story for the show, based on early details that were released, revolves around an FBI agent (Katic) who disappears after tracking down a dangerous serial killer in Boston. Six years later, she is found in a cabin, clinging to life. Unfortunately, she has no memory of the time in which she was missing. The premise sounds pretty great, given that you’ve got several layers of mystery here, and there are even further complications that could come for some of these characters given that Katic will return to learn that her character’s husband (Patrick Heusinger) is now re-married and her son is being raised by he and his new wife.

Hopefully, there’s be more news to share soon — we know that we’d love to cover the show completely when it comes out, so as mentioned hopefully there will be an easy way to watch and dive into it here in America. For the time being, we know that there are many Katic fans who read the site dating back to Castle. We want to do our best to remind you that this show is still out there and is something worth watching out for over the course of the coming months.
