Longmire season 6 notes: Episode title; Peter Weller returns
You may have seen it confirmed on social media already, but if not, know that the former RoboCop star will be reprising his role as Lucian Connally for the upcoming second episode of the season — otherwise known as the one directed by Lou Diamond Phillips. This will be the first two in around two years that Weller has appeared on the show in the flesh; interestingly, the last episode that he appeared in was also the last one that he directed in “Four Arrows.” While Weller is an accomplished actor, he’s almost as known these days as a director, having helmed episodes of everything from Sons of Anarchy to Hawaii Five-0 to The Last Ship.
We’re excited to see Weller back on the show just because of his status as a top-grade actor, but beyond that, we’re also happy to have a little more closure for the Connally family given that they’ve been a part of the series, one way or another, since the very beginning. We do still miss Branch at times, and even though it’s been more than a season since Barlow’s death, the lawsuit was still hanging over Walt at the end of this past season.
Once we know a little bit more about the return of Lucian, we’ll let you know.
How about some episode-title news?
In a post on Instagram (see below) Adam Bartley (The Ferg) confirmed that the upcoming fourth episode of season 6 is entitled “A Thing I’ll Never Understand,” which is about as vague and mysterious a title as you’re going to get. It may be a reference to Walt’s disconnect to the modern world, but for the time being, that’s all we got. What makes this title a little more special is that there is a personal story for it with Bartley, given that the writer of this episode in Leo Geter had a key role in helping him to get cast on the show.
The sixth and final season of Longmire will premiere most likely in September on Netflix. To receive some further news on the subject of the show, be sure to visit the link here right now. (Photo: Netflix.)
