Grey’s Anatomy season 13 finale spoilers: Shonda Rhimes teases fiery story
Specifically, executive producer Shonda Rhimes recently had the following to say to Entertainment Weekly while at the 100th episode party for another one of her shows in Scandal:
“Debbie Allen and I like to say that the episode is on fire … That’s the only way we’re going to describe it. It’s a pretty exciting episode that’s very on fire.”
Allen is the executive producer and frequent director on the show, and we figure that she could have some rather interesting tricks up her sleeve, as well.
Now, the thing to remember here is that when you hear the words “on fire,” it doesn’t necessarily have to be a literal interpretation. After all, there are many different ways in which the story could be on fire. We could be seeing a fire at the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, there could be fire victims rushing into the hospital, or someone’s residence away from the hospital could be ablaze. Or, may this is some sort of metaphorical thematic fire, where we’re seeing hearts and passions ablaze. In this sort of situation, there are a lot of different things that you can think about here in terms of what to expect.
Ultimately, one of the interesting specters that is hanging over the end of the season is the apparent presence of Matthew Morrison. While still not confirmed by ABC, the former Glee actor was spotted filming new scenes for the show. His role also isn’t confirmed yet, but the early rumors floating around out there are that he could be playing Jo’s abusive estranged husband. It’s a little early to know for certain, but this is absolutely something that you should keep watch on for a little while.
What do you think is coming at the end of Grey’s Anatomy season 13, and what do you think Shonda Rhimes means when she’s talking about fire like this? Let us know in the comments!
