Dancing with the Stars 24: Mr. T doesn’t want emotional send-off

Mr. T is making one thing rather clear — he pities the fool who gets super-emotional about being eliminated from Dancing with the Stars.

Every week, it’s a time-honored tradition that whoever leaves the show has some sort of proper tribute complete with an interview and plenty of hugs from the follow competitors. However, this is one thing that the former The A-Team star is making crystal clear — he’s got zero interest in doing this whatsoever. He doesn’t want the emotional exit; he just wants a chance to leave the stage with dignity and keep things in perspective.

Speaking on this subject to Fox411, here is specifically some of what he said:

“That’s the nature of the beast. Mr. T might be going next week. I ain’t going cry. It’s entertainment. It’s a show … I sent out a Tweet, Dancing with the Stars should stop the jibber jabber. They shouldn’t make the departure of a dancer so tear jerky because nobody’s going to war. They’re not dying. They’re just off the show.

“We’ll see ’em later, in another project. In a movie or something! We’ll see them on the Jimmy Kimmel Show or something. C’mon!” 

Mr. T is, after all, the man who tends to make the best points. He gets it that this is just a TV show and that when the dust settles, everyone is going to move on to the next phase of their lives and that’s totally fine. For the time being, he’s just happy to be there.

While in terms of his dancing Mr. T is a pretty clear pick to go home soon, we could see him lasting three or four more weeks given that he is so likable, and you get the sense that he’s trying more and more to be the best dancer he can be. We do think eventually that there will be a time when he’s clearly the worst dancer remaining, but he’s such an interesting character that we hope this said time is not coming up in the near future. He’s not like the vast majority of the people that you end up seeing over the course of the show.
