Kevin James, Leah Remini reunite for Kevin Can Wait finale

Kevin James

Earlier this week, CBS officially ordered a Kevin Can Wait season 2. Today, the hits keep coming. The network announced that Leah Remini ill join her fellow former The King of Queens co-star for the upcoming two-part finale airing a little bit later this spring. It’s a move that should bring a spike of viewers to the series, or at least interest given that the two parties were such key cogs for CBS for a rather long span of time.

Here’s what the network specifically had to say about the finale, and also Remini’s character and her relationship with Kevin:

“In the two-part finale, Kevin agrees to come out of retirement briefly to reprise his undercover assignment in an ongoing police investigation where he and fellow cop Vanessa Cellucci (Remini) will, once again, pose as husband and wife.”

This is a move that is obviously meant to play to fans of The King of Queens, but what’s the problem with that? Oh, there is no problem with that. The main goal here is to get people discussing and having fun with the show, and we absolutely think that this casting is going to provide that and then some. It’ll bring the some laughs, and set it up well for the second season.

Remini’s certainly been all over the place over the past several months. Her A&E docu-series about Scientology was recently renewed for a second season, and she has a new pilot that could turn into something more. Before all of that, she is now seasons removed from an appearance on Dancing with the Stars. James was of course in movies before signing on for the new sitcom, but this seems to be a natural spot for him and it’s a place he could call home for many more seasons.

What do you think about the idea of Remini coming on board Kevin Can Wait for the finale, and also what do you think about the role? Share now in the comments.

Meanwhile, head over here if you didn’t get a chance to see recently all of the different shows that were renewed for more episodes by CBS.
