Bones season 12 episode 12 (series finale) spoilers: ‘The End in the End’
Judging from some of the first details about this episode (which is directed by Bones star David Boreanaz), one thing that does appear clear is that it’s going to be all sorts of intense. Kovac is your final Big Bad, and after something happens to Brennan, everything on the show comes full-circle as we’ll get to see the impact Brennan’s teachings have had on some of the various characters over the course of their time with her. Don’t worry, though — it’s not like Emily Deschanel’s character will be sidelined for the entire hour. This seems to be an episode about bringing you the best of Bones, even if the show’s having to cram it into as small of a package as possible. Is one hour enough to say goodbye?
Bones season 12 episode 12 synopsis – “With Kovac still at large, the team searches for evidence to track him down. After Brennan experiences a setback, the rest of the team must figure out how to find Kovac without her, putting everything she has ever taught them to the test. When all signs point to Kovac having outside help, as well as a hideout, Booth and Brennan go searching for him.”
We expect things to be intense, dramatic, and maybe even scary at times. However, we also anticipate some sort of reasonably happy end by the time the closing credits roll. This isn’t a show that seems altogether invested in giving us some sort of depressing ending where the man characters are anything short of happy. They want you to feel that the journey was worth it, and while there were some very hard times along the way, they managed to make it through. This is a show intent on trying to find a way to bring a smile to your face more than anything.
Promo – Things are starting off dire. The Jeffersonian’s in tatters after the explosions, and the biggest priority is making sure that Booth and Brennan are still alive. Maybe it’ll be happy at the end, but it’ll be emotional leading up to it.

It is absolutely killing me that Bones is ending…it was just about my favorite show ever. Although the explosion at the end of last night’s show is likely to have taken lives, I am hopeful that the main characters survive and we can imagine a great future for all of them.
