Longmire season 6 filming close to kicking off
In a new post on Twitter, Katee Sackhoff (Vic) confirmed that she is back in New Mexico, where many other of the cast members are already including Robert Taylor (Walt) and Adam Bartley (The Ferg). Filming is going to begin shortly on the final season, where it will continue for much of the next several months. Given that we are talking here about the final season of the show, it’s not all that difficult to imagine that when the series finale wraps, there are going to be plenty of people who get rather emotional at the end result of what we get a chance to see over the course of the series’ end.
As for how the show will end, that’s one of the bigger mysteries right now given that structurally, doing a TV series is different from doing a book. When you’re writing a book, you have that luxury of knowing that you can come back at some point in the future and continuing the story, in the event that you are lucky enough in order to do so. You can’t do that here. Season 6 is the end of the road, and you have to prepare for that. While we have ways in which we’d like to see the show end (we are a Walt / Vic fan, after all), at the end of the day we trust the writers and the process that they use to conjure up these endings.
There is, alas, no official Longmire season 6 premiere date just yet. Our guess at present is that the show will be back in September, so we’ll have some further updates in the coming weeks in the event that this somehow changes. We definitely are thinking that this is going to be an exciting year! Hopefully, Netflix will be kind enough to release some sort of teaser or trailer during the summer.
