Once Upon a Time season 6 episode 12: Robin of Loxley versus alarm clocks

Robin of Loxley -

Through his brief time on Once Upon a Time we’ve had a really great opportunity to see Robin of Loxley engage in some adventures. For example, he’s a little bit like MacGyver when it comes to his ability to bust out of locks! He’s a smart, interesting guy, but he’s also not exactly the same as Robin Hood.

This is certainly made all the clearer in the sneak peek below from Once Upon a Time season 6 episode 12, given that you see his most formidable and upsetting opponent yet: The alarm clock! This produces a rather hilarious scene, and it’s sure to be one of many as this is a man not used to being around any modern amenities. This story should play well towards some of Sean Maguire’s sense of humor, but there are some notes of heartbreak in here as well. Take, for example, Regina deciding to give this Robin a few items from her old Robin’s wardrobe, and then realize in her head that she needs to leave the room and the level of intimacy and appreciation is not there on the level it once was.

While Robin does prepare for the day (whatever that entails), there are some other important elements to this preview. Specifically, Snow White doing her part to counsel Regina as to what is going on here, and making it clear to her that this is not the same Robin she knows and loves. She has to accept that, since otherwise she is running the risk of getting her heart shattered down the line. Obviously, nobody wants that to happen.

Do we think that Snow is being cynical? Not exactly. She’s being a realist — admitting that she wants to see things work out for her, but is aware of how this could end up blowing up terribly. It’s still too early to tell how this will work out, but for now, we’re certainly interested in seeing how Robin of Loxley fares in Storybrooke, especially since he could run into some different incarnations of some people who he knew previously from the Enchanted Forest / Sherwood Forest.

All in all, we expect some fun moments throughout Sunday’s episode (can you imagine Robin versus any other modern commodities?), but also a few others that leave us feeling a little bit emotional. We’ll see how things balance out in the end.

What do you think: Is this Robin of Loxley’s greatest foe? What are we going to be seeing next? We want to see some of your thoughts in the comments!
