MacGyver – Hawaii Five-0 crossover episode: Go behind the scenes in new video
In this video, you can see the likes of Lucas Till, George Eads, Grace Park, and Daniel Dae Kim all take you through the events of Friday night’s MacGyver episode entitled “Flashlight,” starting of course with how the entire story comes about. Jack and Mac are going to be arriving in Hawaii in order to help with the relief effort following a natural disaster, and they’re going to find that unfortunately, some criminals are going to view this as the perfect time to pounce. They’re going to coordinate with some members of the Five-0 team, with Mac spending time with Kono while Jack works with Chin. (This seems to be a pairing that annoys Jack greatly, given that he’s already asking if Kono is married. Typical Jack.)
There’s also a reference in this preview that Jack has some sort of awareness of who Steve McGarrett is, even if we don’t get a sense one way or another as to if he’s spent any time with him. (We don’t get the indication that Alex O’Loughlin is going to turn up in the episode.) Park teases that there are a number of fun little nods across the two franchises in the episode, and that’s something to be excited about if you watch the two religiously.
As we’ve said a few times over, we do really hope that this crossover is just the beginning of a larger series of them that we have a chance to see over the course of the seasons ahead. Sure, that does require that the two get renewed, but at this point CBS would be crazy to not order more episodes given the ratings so far and how the shows seem to help each other. Even before the idea of this crossover surfaced, they paired together wonderfully and had great synergy.
If this video isn’t enough for you, there is also a MacGyver – Hawaii Five-0 crossover promo that we posted recently. That gives you another small sense as to the story that’s ahead!
