‘The Walking Dead’ season 7, episode 11 preview: Dwight learns that Daryl’s missing

We’ve discussed at length now about how Sunday night’s new episode of The Walking Dead is going to be one that revolves around Eugene’s arrival in the Sanctuary, and whatever Negan plans to do to both torture him and use him for whatever he deems necessary. For the sake of this article, we’re also adding something else to the mix: Daryl’s missing!

To be more specific, the sneak peek below makes it clear that Daryl’s missing only within the confines of the Sanctuary. Unfortunately, poor Dwight’s just come around to realize the fact that Norman Reedus’ character is not there anymore, and he struggles to locate him. Dwight’s desperation probably stems from the fact that this is not something that is going to end particularly well for him if he can’t get some answers.

Unfortunately for Dwight, the writing is very much on the wall here — he’s screwed. It’s going to be very tricky for him to figure out how to handle this, but there is that little part of us that wants to see him defect. (Actually, it’s probably not so little.) He’s one of the few people in the Sanctuary who seems to be morally conflicted to a certain degree, and is there for a specific reason and purpose. Maybe he’ll be sympathetic to Eugene. (For the record, you can view a photo preview for Sunday’s episode here.)

In the end, this is probably going to be one of the more important episodes remaining this season for the purpose of figuring out the Sanctuary, its structure, and If Negan can continue ruling the roost over there. It’s not so much that we foresee some sort of coup taking place, but we are keenly aware of the fact that Rick’s gaining ground on them. He’s got the people from Garbageland (we refuse to call them anything else), and eventually, Oceanside could become a part of the equation. He needs guns, and Tara knows that these people have them. There eventually may not be another choice.
