‘Homeland’ season 6, episode 6 preview: Will Carrie get through to Quinn?
We’re almost to the halfway point now of “Homeland” season 6, which is mostly notable just for the sake of reminding you how quickly these seasons tend to fly by — and this was with the show taking a week off to pause and regroup so that it didn’t get clobbered in the ratings by the Super Bowl.
Next week’s new episode is entitled “The Return,” and there could be some reunions, some revelations, and then also some frustrations. Moving into it, it’s our job as viewers to try to assign different roles to all of these people.
Synopsis – “Carrie follows a lead. Saul meets an old friend. Keane takes a stand.”
In true Showtime fashion, they opt to not tell you much of anything in terms of what is coming up, beyond the fact that this is a show of action rather than one of exposition. They throw you into the fire and allow you to see events unfold. It’s not “24,” but many of those classic elements do make it into the show.
This show, no matter the content, is always going to remain timely and intense. That in itself makes it worthy of some anticipation.
Warning: Spoilers ahead.
The promo below offers up a little bit more insight beyond what happened at the brownstone on tonight’s episode. Quinn is going to see himself locked away, which requires Carrie to push herself further in order to get through to him. She’s probably the only person who can, but this remains such a taxing, difficult journey for both characters that it’s going to be very tricky to get through to him.
Meanwhile, be prepared for some Saul stand-offs, as the character’s going to be left once again in that fairly-difficult position where he has to defend himself. It’s a spot he’s used to, and he likely realizes by now that with him, it almost never gets any easier.
