‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2 spoilers: Is a key character finally returning?

LegendsDue to today being Valentine’s Day, there is unfortunately no new episode of “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” coming on the air. (The CW could’ve chosen to air some new episodes, given that so many other networks did, but they seem fine to be sitting this one out.) The show will be back next week, but before we even roll around to that we do have some further (potential) news when it comes to a key character returning to the show.

(Warning: Of course, there are minor spoilers ahead.)

Is Captain Cold coming back? That seems to be some of the scuttlebutt that is floating around online after Wentworth Miller’s been spotted around some filming locations. Typically we wouldn’t report on something based off of primarily sightings, but this is a slightly different situation just given the sole fact that it’s long been assumed by so many people, and for a good reason, that we’d be seeing the character again. For one, he’s got such a close relationship with Mick Rory, and to go along with that further, he is such an iconic character within the DC Comics universe.

The question we have is mostly how Miller returns, given that the Leonard Snart over the present timeline was killed off at the end of the first season. It’s possible that the team manages to pluck him out of the timeline before he dies, or it’s possible that we’ve got some sort of flashback coming up. Who knows? Maybe this is similar to the episode from earlier this season where we saw him act as a sort of conscience to Mick as he attempted to carve his future path. Snart’s the closest thing to family that Rory’s ever had, even if this particular family is not always a kind or loving one.
