‘NCIS’ – ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ crossover: Sean Murray, Scott Bakula, and more talk ‘Pandora’s Box’ (video)
Tonight, “NCIS” and “NCIS: New Orleans” are going to be airing something that is becoming an annual tradition for the shows: A crossover event! This is a chance to see the casts of the two shows cross paths, and a case that is a little bit more ambitious than one that you’re typically able to get over the course of a single hour.
In preparing you for the crossover further, the video below features Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Scott Bakula, and many other actors getting to speak about the process of telling a story this big at this time. You’ll be seeing specifically some select “NCIS” cast members head down to the Big Easy in order to finish off the story of a terror playbook that was stolen, and as a result of that poses a huge threat to national security. There seems to be a good bit of enthusiasm for the episode to air, and of course that enthusiasm makes us in turn all the more excited to see all of this play out.
One of the things that we’ve been thinking about more as of late is the idea of the CBS Expanded Universe, something that is probably far larger than you would first realize. “NCIS” stemmed from “JAG,” but out of all the shows currently on the air, this is technically in the same world as the two spin-offs, “Scorpion,” “Hawaii Five-0,” and now “MacGyver” with that show doing a crossover with “Five-0” set to air next month. We do wonder already if there is going to be any attempt to take advantage of any of these shows in the near future. Could you imagine an epic case that ends up spanning almost every single one of these shows? It’s ambitious, but it would absolutely be interesting to see!
