‘Homeland’ season 6, episode 5 preview: Quinn, Carrie, and a hostage crisis
Tonight, “Homeland” returns after a Super Bowl break with another episode that brings a difficult challenge to the table: Trying to air after the Grammys. Here’s to hoping that the show figures out a way to pull off decent live ratings, but we also recognize that there is no guarantee of that — not that it matters too much, given that this is a premium-cable show and ratings don’t matter all that much (or at all).
Tonight, what you’re going to see begins with further tension between Carrie and Dar Adal, mostly because of the fact that she’s been working to advice President Keane in secret even before she won the election, and this is something that hasn’t been all that apparent to anyone else. We’re also going to be dealing with the aftermath of Saul being captured, and also not having the support of the majority of the people he relies on the most. (This is what happens when you are thousands of miles away from everyone else.)
So where is the show going from here entering next week’s new episode? Well, we’ve got a story in “Cassus Belli” that we certainly believe is going to be giving its characters more challenges; with that said, it’s also not one that is presenting a whole of details in advance in terms of what you can expect to see.
Synopsis – “Keane gets sidelined. Carrie’s work follows her home.”
Yep, this is another reminder that Showtime does not love to give you a whole lot to work with in some of these descriptions in advance! We know that you guys want to keep things secretive, but you don’t need to work this hard to make it happen!
Promo – This makes it pretty clear precisely what sort of danger we’re going to be seeing Carrie and her daughter in, as she finds herself being held responsible for her actions by an entire city. This leads to Quinn being at the center of an extremely dangerous situation, one where he is held up … and he’s the last person you want to face off with.
