‘The Voice’ coach Adam Levine gets star on Hollywood Walk of Fame (video)
Monday, February 27 is going to be a big day for many fans of “The Voice” out there, as the show is going to be premiering on NBC with new episodes. However, earlier today was a huge day for Adam Levine, as the Maroon 5 frontman / coach on the show was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It was a huge honor for the guy, especially given his connections to California and the significance of having something like this happen.
In the video below, you can take advantage of the chance to watch the entire ceremony back in its entirety — and it’s a good one, given that you get appearances from musical icon Sammy Hager to go along with fellow coach from “The Voice” in Blake Shelton, who laments at first that this isn’t “a roast” before going on to complement Adam immensely on being a great and loyal friend. The two guys are the only two coaches to be on every season, and they’ve gone through a lot of ups and downs since it first started.
If you think for a minute about “The Voice” before it began, this was another show considered by many to be a knock-off of “American Idol,” and something that would never work beyond a season or two. Yet, this show is here and “Idol” is not … at least for now? The reason that it ended up working is in part because of the coaches, and the great twist for auditions that really did emphasize more than anything else the quality of someone’s voice over their story or their appearance.
Now, we just have to see if Blake gets his own star on there someday — it certainly seems like he should given his contributions! The same virtually goes for most of the coaches who’ve been on the show over the years. (We don’t want to call anyone out who shouldn’t, so let’s just leave it at that … but you can draw your own conclusions.)
