‘The Vampire Diaries’ series finale: Recently-deceased character will return
It’s certainly still understandable that you’re out there mourning a character who died on the most-recent episode of “The Vampire Diaries.” Luckily, we do come now bearing a little bit of good news: You will see them again. (Obviously, there are some spoilers ahead from last night’s episode.)
Enzo’s death on the show has to go down as one of the most devastating that we’ve seen through the series’ run, if for no other reason than that the writers refuse for whatever reason to let Bonnie have something resembling true happiness. She’s been destroyed so many times, and it happened again.
While unfortunately we cannot tell you whether or not she will find happiness at the end of the episode, we can at the very least bring you confirmation that you are, in fact, going to get an opportunity to see Enzo once more. This is something that Michael Malarkey himself confirmed in an interview with TVLine, discussing the upcoming March 10 series finale:
“I’ve gone in and done a couple bits here and there … It’s nice to be able to wrap this thing up the way they’ve done it, to know this is the end, and to do it justice.”
As for how we end up seeing Enzo, that remains an important question … but it’s hardly like he is the only potentially dead character who could be turning up in the final episode of the series. Just remember for a moment or so here that Nina Dobrev’s Elena is in a sort of stasis until Bonnie dies, and may as well be dead until then; meanwhile, Dobrev’s other character Katherine is likely somewhere in Hell following her last appearance on the show. Maybe we will end up getting a glimpse of the other side in the episode. It’d be great to envision a future for Bonnie and Enzo somehow given that so many people have been revived on this show already, but there is no guarantee of such a thing.
