‘Game of Thrones’ star Maisie Williams open to ‘Doctor Who’ reprisal
One of the great things about being on “Doctor Who” is that this is a show that never really closes the door on you getting to be a part of the universe. It doesn’t quite matter if you die, lose your allegiance to the Doctor, or find yourself trapped in another part of time — he can always come back to find you.
It’s with that we could end up seeing something more from Maisie Williams as Ashildr in the future. Speaking to Radio Times recently, the actress confirmed that she remains very much open to coming back on the show at some point; however, she also made it clear that she hadn’t been asked. Based on the timing and where the series is right now in filming, that makes the odds fairly low that we are going to be seeing an appearance from Maisie at any point on the upcoming season of the show.
The last we saw Ashildr, she was traveling off to destinations unknown with Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman), and we’re pretty sure that there could be a great spin-off series out there featuring these two characters specifically if they actually had time in their schedules. The problem with that, of course, is that Coleman is the new star of “Victoria” for ITV, while of course Williams remains best known for playing Arya Stark on HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”
New episodes of “Doctor Who” still unfortunately don’t have a premiere date, but if we have a personal expectation for them, it probably is at some point in April or May. If they were to come out before then, we’d like to think that we would’ve heard something by now.
As for “Game of Thrones,” the much-anticipated seventh season of the show is going to be premiering on HBO at some point over the summer.
