‘The Voice’ season 11: Celine Dion to advise Team Gwen Stefani
Did Gwen Stefani just get one of the greatest advisers in the history of “The Voice“? We don’t think it takes too much research for it to be clear that the answer there is a pretty clear yes.
In a new post on Twitter, Celine Dion herself confirmed that she will be the adviser for Team Gwen through the Battle Rounds portion of season 11. While we’ve been a noted critic of the format of this round, one thing that we do love is that it gives the artists the chance to get a new perspective on their performances from a music veteran who’s coming in completely fresh — if they ever change the format, we hope they keep the advisers.
What Dion brings to the table it clear — she’s got one of the best voices in the history of music, and she brings so much passion to her performances. There’s a reason why so many people on these singing shows choose to perform covers of their songs — they’re incredibly recognizable, not to mention challenging. With that said, we’d be as intimidated as ever if we were tasked with performing “I Surrender” or one of her other big hits, and had the challenge of having to do it in front of her. This is one of those situations where passing out is pretty understandable!
The new season of “The Voice” is going to be premiering on NBC come Monday, February 27 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time; Stefani will be joined by returning coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Alicia Keys. There’s no word yet on who the other Battle Round advisers will be, but odds are that these episodes will air at some point in March once the Blind Audition stage of things is over. Remember that there will also be another adviser likely brought in for the Knockout Rounds later in the season, but there is no word on who that will be.
