Will CBS’ ‘Hunted’ be their next ‘Amazing Race’? Take a look
Tonight after the AFC Championship Game on CBS, you’re going to get a chance to see something that we’ve been long looking forward to having on the air once more: A new reality competition show. With “Hunted,” what you’re getting is a chance to see here is a show that is intense, intelligent, and a combination seemingly of a few of our favorite shows. For example, you’ve got the teamwork aspect of “The Amazing Race,” and then also the espionage aspect of “The Mole.” Then, you’ve even got the whole off-the-grid aspect that you get from so many cable series that are out there doing at the present. this is a show bringing a lot to the table, and most of it looks great.
The video below is your perfect introduction to tonight’s episode. “Hunted” effectively follows teams on a journey to leave as small of a footprint as possible in order to avoid the presence of law-enforcement experts who are masters at tracking people electronically and finding them. (Take a look at that photo above! Intimidated?) These teams are going to be doing everything that they can in order to potentially avoid being found using a wide array of different techniques.
If the teams can manage to go the run of the show without being found, they each earn a cash prize. What’s exciting mostly is that this show is a clean slate. We’ve never seen anything quite like it before, and therefore there’s a lot of intrigue in seeing how this plays out. This could be one of the most compelling shows of its kind in a long time; or, it could be a total disaster. Kudos to CBS for starting it off in a great timeslot.
Here’s one final bit of food for thought: Every single one of the big CBS reality competition shows has been on over 15 years at this point. That’s a LONG time for reality TV. While we do love every one of their shows, at the same time it’s time to shake things up.
