‘Black Sails’ season 4: A fun new video and a whole lotta secrecy
Can you believe that the end is almost finally here for “Black Sails” on Starz? It’s been quite a journey across the high seas, but on Sunday, January 29, the story for Flint, Silver, and many other characters (or at least the part of it that we are going to see) will be sailing off into the sunset.
There is a lot of excitement when it comes to the story of this final season, but at the same time, there is a part of us that must admit that the thing that has our mind buzzing the most at the moment is just how mysterious the network’s been over the past few weeks when it comes to what to expect. There hasn’t been too much in the way of new footage recently released, there is not a synopsis out there for the premiere yet, and while we do have the (awesome) key art above for the new season, it doesn’t give away too much when it comes to our excitement for what lies ahead.
Now, one of the questions that you do have to ponder over is this: Is such secrecy a good thing? In some ways, you can say that it builds a little bit of mystery. This is something that clearly aided “American Horror Story: Roanoke,” and more and more properties are probably going to try to keep things close to the vest when it comes to their upcoming stories. With this show, though, it’s a little different since this is roughly a prequel to “Treasure Island,” and you have a good sense as to where this is going. You just don’t know all of the individual bumps along the way.
In the end, we’d say that if you’re clamoring for more material on “Black Sails,” stay tuned — we have a feeling that there will be some coming over the next few days. If nothing else, Starz may need to inform some unaware viewers that the show, like all of its other original programming, is moving to Sundays after spending the past few years in a different timeslot.
There is one cool thing that you can check out below, and that is the cast sharing some various reactions on Twitter. Think of this as the lighter side of the pirate drama … mostly because these people are not exactly pirates in real life.
