‘The Vampire Diaries’ series finale script officially written; more Nina Dobrev questions
The beginning of the end if officially here when it comes to “The Vampire Diaries” — after all, executive producers Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson have officially completed the final script.
In a post on Twitter late last night, Plec confirmed that the two of them had wrapped up this key part of the process, and to go along with that, she also dropped an interesting bit of trivia about the timing of this milestone to go along with the Inaugurations of President Barack Obama and Donald Trump.
As for what is going to be taking place within this series finale, that’s what we are going to be waiting to see. There’s pretty much a 0% chance that anyone is going to be dishing out any big secrets in advance, so for now we’re dealing more with question marks. One of the biggest ones revolves around the status of one Nina Dobrev, who was a huge part of the show for many years — however, nobody knows as of yet if she is going to return. We know that personally, we would not see it as much of a surprise if the news came out that there were separate versions of the script written depending on whether or not Dobrev is able to make an appearance. One of the reasons why it is so complicated is that she is currently in the process of promoting her new film “xXx: Return of Xander Cage.” The promotional commitments that she has to the movie could easily collide with whatever is going on with the series — for example, she just made an appearance on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” this week.
The series finale for the show is set to air on The CW in March — given that the show has yet to start filming the episode, we imagine that there will be a whole lot more to share in terms of photos and other content from it in the near future. Here’s to hoping for an episode that honors the entire legacy of the series as opposed to just a couple of seasons that have taken place recently.
