‘The Bachelorette’: Desiree Hartsock, Ashley Hebert’s babies shown off during Nick Viall special

What happened? -

Mrs. Carter: Is there a big “Bachelor Nation” pregnancy coming up, or just a major fakeout?

During Sunday night’s “The Bachelor: Countdown to Nick” special, ABC teased that there could be a huge “pregnancy” reveal before cutting to one commercial, and they then did go to Kaitlyn Bristowe comment that she and fiance Shawn Booth could end up having a baby before they get married. Maybe this is a big tease just to keep us watching, or this is some sort of Kaitlyn prank — she has shown to have a sense of humor about herself. The thing to remember here is that ABC does like to trick you during some of their “Bachelor” shows, so we’re not putting it past them that this is just a reason to keep watching.

Rest assured, that’s exactly what they ended up doing — tricking you. This was an epic “tease” just to reveal some announcements that many people were already out there. Take, for example, Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried having a child, and Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum welcomed their second kid. It was a nice little segment, but there wasn’t really anything more to it. We did see a segment featuring Kaitlyn and Shawn, but the pregnancy part of it was all an epic ruse to keep you watching. The same goes for Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell, who were also teased with such a claim over the course of the show.

So for those of you wondering why in the world ABC would choose to hype up something like Kaitlyn being pregnant when it wasn’t actually true, think of it this way: This is what they do! Therefore, if you see them hype up anything “shocking” coming up over the course of the coming season, we recommend that you take it with a giant grain of salt. They can manipulate almost anything to represent a particular point of view — after all, they did this with “UnREAL.”

Stay tuned, as we will have more news when it comes to “The Bachelor” and the “Countdown to Nick” special coming up! Of course, we will be back on Monday night with a review for that episode, and a look at everything else that is going to be coming up in the season. (Photo: ABC.)
