Ryan Seacrest runs into elevator trouble promoting ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’

Rockin Eve -

Given what happened to Ryan Seacrest today while he was in the process of promoting this year’s iteration of “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” for ABC, we can only hope that the actual special tomorrow night goes a little more smoothly for him.

If you look below, you can see a picture from his official Instagram page showing the host trapped in an elevator with some of his colleagues while heading up at Times Square to see the famous ball that is set to drop at midnight at the conclusion of the “Rockin’ Eve” special. He was set to be on “Good Morning America” in order to properly promote the event, but for a brief period of time, they couldn’t quite get there in order to make it happen.

These sort of things do have a tendency to be only temporary, and with that in mind, eventually the crew was rescued and they had a chance to go on about the remainder of the day.

Tomorrow night, the special will begin in primetime with Jenny McCarthy hosting once again, and with Mariah Carey, DNCE, Thomas Rhett and Gloria Estefan all taking part in the festivities in some form or another. This special is routinely the most-popular show on New Year’s Eve year in and year out, and it is hard to envision a situation where that changes. This show is tradition, and it combines a little bit of fun with some sentimentality.
