Chaka Khan offers Hollywood bubble wrap, Happy birthday Mary Tyler Moore
Thursday would be a good day to start a new series on Netflix, Hulu or any other streaming series and get involved in a new show. If you got any TV shows series DVD’s crack them out tonight. Why? Reruns. Smack dab in the middle of the holidays has TV viewers looking at too many reruns. In fact, almost every channel on Thursday night has reruns leaving viewers wishing for the New Year most desperately. Take a risk, watch a new show this week. You just might find a program that you’d never think of watching before! And when the new season of TV arrives, be ready! It’s going to be epic!
New Year’s Eve shows: What are you watching?
The New Year’s Eve planning should include what TV show you watch. Even if you are having a huge party, the countdown from a TV show is perfect to ring in. In fact, last year I was at a party where the TV was mute most of the evening until the countdown for the new year began. With all the entertainment expected for the shows, make a choice early on what you will be watching to get the best programming possible! Even the cable channels are offering New Year’s Eve programs.

Hollywood fans, TV viewers and everyone in general has been on edge about the celebrities we’ve lost in 2016. It’s a fact of life that offers a dose of reality we all face. Yet, it’s been so harsh. Perhaps that’s why Chaka Khan’s bubble wrap tweet offers a glimpse of humor during a serious time. And coming from a star who has graced the stage, TV and other forms of entertainment it’s a perspective to keep in mind no matter where you are in the world.

Sports Illustrated offers a look at the athletes we lost in 2016
Typically I find the end of the year material overwhelming. There are so many lists and looking back we always find sorrow. However, this list from Sports Illustrated is definitely one to check out. We see football players, basketball players and even Olympic athletes on our TVs often. Many sports figures are more popular than weekly TV sitcom stars and this video offers a soft look at some of the athletes lost in 2016.
We're saddened to have lost these sports figures in 2016, but their legacies will not be forgotten. pic.twitter.com/fTHm479Yjb
