‘Teen Wolf’ season 6: Let’s discuss those Dylan O’Brien – Stiles rumors…
For the second straight week, there is no new episode of “Teen Wolf” airing tonight on MTV; yet, at the same exact time, it certainly does not appear as though there is a shortage of news or rumors out there at all when it comes to the show.
Want some evidence of that? Then just take a look at what is going on right now when it comes to Dylan O’Brien and the suggestion that Stiles may be getting killed off on the series just based on when he filmed what may have been his last footage for the series.
This rumor first began because of a now-deleted Instagram post from costume supervisor Daniel Flores suggesting that Dylan just finished filming his six-season run on the show. Given that there is more of the series still to be filmed, this is where the chatter comes from that Stiles’ future may not bright. Personally, we don’t altogether think that is the case. Given his schedule, the series may simply be filming some things out of order; or, maybe Stiles returned from the other side and determined that he really just wanted to get the heck out of Beacon Hills once and for all rather than continue to endure much of this stuff.
For those wanting some extra clarity, just check out what another costumer in Adam M. West had to say on his Twitter on the subject:
“FYI – actors’ availability is one of the main schedule concerns in filming. Someone’s “last day of shooting” doesn’t tell you anything. If you’re a Teen Wolf fan, just chill. Some people are very busy and we shoot with them when we can. You didn’t get a spoiler.”
With that, let’s all take a deep breath. It’s very well possible that the show did some very creative things with Dylan given his schedule, which has been all over the place as of late thanks to movie projects and also the recovery from his injury a little earlier in the year.

I think they should just leave it with season 6A. They ended 6A just fine so why continue when the fans won’t like it?

It’s certainly a thought!

Adam West only posted that because he, too, made a post on his private Instagram saying his goodbyes to Dylan. Fans started harassing him, so I guess he wanted to appease them, but if you read his whole message to another fan, it’s more than confirmed that Dylan’s participation won’t go beyond season 6A. Same deal if you read what writer Will Wallace had to say about the matter.
And moreover, Lisa O’Brien, Dylan’s mother, thanked a fan on an Instagram post that made it pretty clear that Dylan won’t participate anymore in the show beyond this first half of season 6 run.
Truth of the matter is this: he just has no time. He filmed two weeks in February before going to The Death Cure set in Canada, and that translated to what we saw in the only two episodes he’s been so far in this season, 1 and 5. His absence had nothing to do with his accident; it was pre-planned – originally, The Death Cure and Teen Wolf shooting coincided, and Dylan just wasn’t available for more season 6.
Teen Wolf season 6B, the latter half of the season, started filming back in October 3; meanwhile, Dylan has been filming American Assassin since early September. He finished the shooting of said movie on December 9, and then he went back to the Teen Wolf set (all the way from Thailand – he’s such a champ and a hard worker) on December 13 to film episode 6.10, the finale of 6A, which they couldn’t film before becauseh e wasn’t available.
And their last day on the Teen Wolf set was December 17. He filmed all of four days. That’s it. Fans who still want to see him on this show rather than enjoying his rising film career are currently burying their head in the sand pretending four days is enough to film content for the second half of season 6, but it’s just not possible.
And The Death Cure is filming in South Africa in January/February, which, accounting for the two weeks of pre-production he’ll surely have to do, just like he did for the two previous films, indicates that no, he can’t come back to the Teen Wolf set anymore.
They only have 5/4 episodes left to film of season 6B, and The Death Cure will once again coincide with filming of said episodes, so you can pretty much rest assured that there won’t be more Stiles on this show beyond episode 6.10.

I agree with all of this. They might have been able to film something with him for the series finale as well, but I doubt it would be more than a scene or two. I think fans who are expecting to see him in the majority of 6B episodes will be disappointed.
