‘The 100’ season 4 spoilers: The epic struggle ahead for Octavia

When the fourth season of “The 100” premieres on The CW in the new year, we’re going to see several characters going through some challenges. Many will be dealing with death, the threat of death coming, or trying to simply make sense of their surroundings. Even if you cannot completely relate to every aspect of their journey, you can at least relate to some of their emotions.

That may especially be true for the Octavia character, given there are so many people out there who lost someone they cared about. She has to figure out the best way possible to move forward, and based on what we know at the moment, this is not something that is going to come easy for her. Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Jason Rothenberg made it clear that there will be some rather difficult times ahead for this character before we get to the other side, which is (maybe) when she can emerge in a better place — after all, remember here that there are no guarantees with this show:

“Octavia’s story in Season 4 is amazing … She’s got quite a journey ahead of her, and it gets darker before it gets lighter. She’s taking a detour into assassin land. She’ll do whatever she feels she needs to do to hide the pain from the loss of Lincoln.”

When it comes to making things better between her and Bellamy, it also appears that there is much work to be done:

“Who is she? She’s not Skaikru. She’s not Trikru. Who is she now that Lincoln is gone, and that her brother — in her mind — is responsible for so many difficult choices? They have some work to do on their relationship. It’s too bad there aren’t any family therapists in this future.”

The good news is that there is a lot of time coming up for the two characters to tackle many of these hard choices. However, at the same time the bad news here is that they may be rather preoccupied trying to save the world and their own lives to really focus on much of this. We’ll have to see more of what happens when the show comes back.
