‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ previews Madonna – Carpool Karaoke
“Carpool Karaoke” on “The Late Late Show” has become in many ways the new staple of late-night programming. It’s the one segment that almost any star in music would want to be a part of, and there’s a pretty clear reason as to why: It’s fun! There’s never anything in any of these that is earth-shattering, but that’s not the point. The main objective here seems to be to get incredibly famous people in a car and have them do very silly things.
Judging from the preview below from the latest “Carpool Karaoke” with Madonna (debuting on Wednesday night), there’s going to be a lot of comedy in here! Apparently, at one point the “Vogue” singer twerks, does the iconic vogue dance moves, and then plays coy when asked about Michael Jackson. One thing that is great about James Corden having Madonna in the car is that there are approximately about a billion different things that he can ask her. We don’t know how many of them that she will necessarily answer, but the chance for him to ask them alone is something that is rather exciting in the first place.
This appearance from Madonna follows up a number of other popular musicians such as Adele, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, and even a non-musician in First Lady Michelle Obama. These videos have collectively pulled in hundreds of millions of views on YouTube alone, which is precisely one of the things that CBS wanted in hiring Corden to be the host of this show: Someone who could create really strong and interesting viral content for them.
We’ll have a chance a little bit later in the week to give you our full take on this. Stay tuned!
