‘The Walking Dead’ season 7, episode 8 (midseason finale) preview: ‘Hearts Still Beating’, pain for Andrew Lincoln’s Rick

twdTonight, “The Walking Dead” is going long with their episode entitled “Sing Me a Song.” How long? Think along the lines of 90 minutes. This is an episode that is going to be containing more than likely some shocking revelations, including a scene or two that is very much famous from the comic series.

So where are we going from here? Think in terms of another lengthy episode in the midseason finale. The title for this hour is “Hearts Still Beating,” and this one is going to last for a full 85 minutes. Synopsis (via TV Guide) – “With members out scavenging for supplies, Negan’s unwelcome visit to Alexandria continues. With tensions high, things quickly spin out of control.”

As for what this means precisely, we’ll have to wait and see — but it’s fair to say that there will be some chaos of the most horrible kind given that Negan is around. To date, Rick Grimes has taken the approach of “give him what he wants” with Negan. Yet, how long is that really going to last? We don’t have that much confidence that it will be for much longer,  especially if we end up seeing Negan make the sort of move that is destructive against the group.

Let’s hope that whatever happens here will be enough to take the show during what is going to be a fairly lengthy hiatus. After this one airs, odds are that the show will not return with any more installments until we roll around to February. That is, at the very least, the way things have worked in the past.
