‘Blue Bloods’ season 7, episode 10: More of the story in ‘Unbearable Loss’
For the second straight week, there is unfortunately not a new episode of “Blue Bloods” airing on CBS. There’s no real reason to go into an extended rant questioning why that is, so for the remainder of this article, the focus is going to be instead on previewing what is coming up when the show does return with new episodes in a week.
“Unbearable Loss” is the title for this episode, and it is a reference to the struggle of Reverend Daniel Potter (Ato Essandoh, “Chicago Med”) as he works through the grief over the tragic death of his son. This incident brings the character to a crossroads, and one where he needs to work with Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) in order to make sure that justice is served. Given that he and Frank have a history of conflict and a difficult relationship, it is far from easy to assume that the two are going to be able to put that aside.
At the same time, at the very least the Reverend can be sure that Frank will do everything that he can. Although the two may not see eye to eye on a wide array of different issues, by no means does this mean that Potter will be treated with bias of any sort during the investigation.
CBS also revealed recently the Jamie storyline for this episode, one where he wrestles with a crisis after he shoots a mugger in self-defense before realizing that this said mugger is the child of an NYPD officer. It may still prove to be the right thing for him to do in the situation, but the police are meant to be a unified community. Him doing something to shatter that could still be an issue that weighs on him heavily.
