‘Designated Survivor’ episode 9 preview: ‘The Blueprint’ and more traitor drama
We suppose at this point, we should be getting a little bit accustomed to ABC’s marketing strategy of promoting one shocker after another. Yet, here we are waiting for next week’s new episode of “Designated Survivor” entitled “The Blueprint,” and what we’re getting is very much still throwing us off. We’re getting promises of potential President Kirkman secrets, danger, and traitors in the midst. Isn’t this the same sort of hype that we’ve been getting for most of the season?
We do think that the problem here is with ABC rather than the Kiefer Sutherland series itself, given that it does many things right. We just feel like the network is pushing this show far harder from the vantage point of “check out how crazy this is!” more than focusing on their characters. to make a reference off of the the episode title here, it’s almost as though the network is taking the blueprint from one of their other shows in “Scandal” and are applying it to this series and many others in hopes that it works.
We’d rather the show get a different promotional strategy moving forward, but there’s not much we can do about that. For now, let’s just go ahead and share the synopsis for this episode below:
“When classified government documents are leaked online, President Kirkman searches for the party responsible only to find that they have taken refuge inside a foreign embassy and are behind even his reach. Meanwhile, Agent Hannah Wells races furiously to gather evidence of MacLeish’s involvement in the conspiracy before he can be confirmed as the country’s next Vice President.”
We are sure that there will be some cool twists, but we hope that in the process, we continue to get to know these people better as well.
