‘Ink Master’ season 8, episode 15 video: Who will make it past tattoo marathon?

We’re getting very close to the season 8 finale of “Ink Master,” but in order to make it there, there’s one more week that the remaining artists are going to have to get through!

In the video below, our final four of Ryan, Kelly, Gian, and Nate are going to receive some rather-unwelcome news as they all get through the challenge of trying to make it through an epic 15-hour marathon. That’s not all, given that the specific styles they are going to have to tattoo are ones that they thought they’d be spared from doing over the course of the competition. For example, Ryan is going to have to do both watercolors and new-school landmarks, which could prove rather challenging for her given that she is not a color tattoo artist. Meanwhile, Kelly in the preview bemoans having to take on pinups and outer space.

From a producing point of view, this was pretty brilliant for the show to make these artists think that they’d moved past certain styles just because they weren’t on the team performing them on that given day. This is a chance to show off versatility, while at the same time create a little bit of drama.

Host Dave Navarro proclaims this to be the most competitive final four we’ve ever seen, and we’re not going to fault him for that since we feel like all of the remaining artists are in part genuinely good. We’ve also learned over the past few years in particular not to write anyone off, mostly because if you do that, there’s a reasonably good chance that this person will be the person who actually ends up winning at the very end.
