‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6, episode 10 (winter finale) spoilers: Emma Swan’s flashpoint

For much of this season on “Once Upon a Time,” we’ve been building towards some sort of showdown with the Evil Queen that could have devastating consequences. After all, it’s been fairly clearly established at this point that if she dies, we’re also going to see the death of Regina to go along with it. For many fans, we feel like that’s far too big of a pill to swallow.

There are also some other loose threads floating around out there, whether it be the prophecy Emma saw earlier this season or even some of the ramifications of what happens tonight with Belle and Rumpelstiltskin. As we move into the winter finale for the show next week entitled “Wish You Were Here,” we’re left with many questions. Even that title alone implies some sort of separation, which makes a little bit of sense given all of the discussion that is out there about whether or not we’re going to be seeing some characters be transported to other words before all of this is over.

Synopsis (via Entertainment Weekly) – “When she learns that our heroes possess a weapon capable of defeating her, the Evil Queen steals Aladdin’s magic lamp from Jasmine and makes a wish that could sideline the Savior forever. Unwilling to wake Snow while Emma is missing, David works with Hook and Henry to hold the Evil Queen at bay in Storybrooke as Regina goes on a rogue rescue mission. Meanwhile, Gold and Belle face a surprising danger to their newborn son.”

Given that there could be months between this episode airing and the one that follows, here’s to hoping that we have a worthy finale, one that is both exciting but also full of fun character moments that remind us of why we’re so invested into some of these stories in the first place.

Promo – We’ve got a better sense now as to what’s really coming in this episode now. Emma wishes that she wasn’t the Savior, and the Queen makes sure that this wish is granted. Enter a parallel universe where she is a princess! Yes, the title is “Flash” joke; maybe Barry Allen can speed over from Vancouver to change things around.
