‘Descendants 2’: First behind-the-scenes from Disney Channel TV movie sequel

For the most part, and really to the surprise of no one, today’s been a rather quiet one in terms of news coming out regarding anything pertaining to television. Can you really be altogether surprised? It’s Black Friday! Most people are off shopping and doing other things.

With that being said, the folks over at the Disney Channel did bestow one gift among many fans of the “Descendants” franchise late Friday in a new behind-the-scenes look at the story coming up. This one features Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, and some other cast members speaking at length regarding being a part of filming this one, and how it compares favorably to the one that aired previously on the Disney Channel and generated a ton of attention, ratings, and merchandise sales.

Here, the talk is mostly centered around the ambition and the scale that is going into the production this time around. You’re getting to see bigger musical numbers, larger sets, and of course new characters — which you can read more about over at the link here. Given that the first was a success, there’s no reason for the movie to go in any direction other than the “more of the same” one.

Unfortunately, you’re still going to be waiting for many months still to see this project eventually air, but we’re pretty sure that when it does, we’ll be back at this same place once more talking about runaway ratings and the like. Here’s to hoping that it matches many of our expectations, and delivers something that is in line with the original, while at the same time fairly fun in the process.
