‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4, episode 7 video: Darkness falls

Let’s begin this particular article with yet another reminder: There is no new episode of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” coming onto ABC Tuesday night. Would we like for there to be one? Absolutely, but the “Dancing with the Stars” finale is coming on instead. You’re going to be waiting for one more week to see precisely what is coming up next.

We do have a new promo below to start to hype you up for some of that! Unfortunately, we don’t think that this necessarily does a whole lot in the realm of giving away enormous plot spoilers. There’s just not too much that the show can afford to give away right now, since saying anything too concrete would more or less mean letting a huge spoiler out of the bag. Many lives were in enormous jeopardy when the show left off, and we have Eli Morrow’s actions in part to thank for that.

Meanwhile, the ABC synopsis keeps things very cryptic in its own way:

“With the loss of half the team, the remaining members search for answers as the clock counts down for Ghost Rider.”

Now with this, we suppose that the question on the minds of many is going to be if this “loss” will be permanent. We doubt it, since we don’t see the show shifting the deck chairs so much that Fitz and Coulson are no longer a primary part of this. From a storytelling perspective, though, there could be something potentially interesting about getting an opportunity to see what the show is going to be like where other characters are in the position of hero and have to figure things out while some of the typical heroes are forced to sit idly by.
