‘Bull’ episode 7 video: An emotional case of father and son
So far, we’d absolutely say that “Bull” has done a great job making us care about its main characters, and also understanding precisely how good the title character is at his job. So far, we’ve seen very little keep him from achieving all the success that he could possibly want.
Yet, at the same time, the show still needs to tackle an array of other challenges, and to us at present, one of the biggest ones is how figure out the right way to keep the show from getting stale. When you’re giving people roughly the same sort of structured show every week, how can you make things different and stand out? That’s not always easy.
The video below for Tuesday’s “Never Saw the Sign” does a very good job of differentiating this episode from what we saw in a recent synopsis for it. In that, we heard about a manslaughter case with deeper political ramifications. The promo, meanwhile, sets up this episode more as one about an emotional case revolving around a father, and some of what could happen in the event that everything starts to go south. (Really, this episode could be chock full of terrible things to think about.)
This will be the last episode before the Thanksgiving holiday, and what is somewhat interesting to think about is that we’re still within the first third of the season. There’s still a lot of story still to come, and to go along with that, many chances to get to know Bull better, and to also see a little bit more in terms of what some of his struggles could be.
