‘Arrow’ season 5 spoilers: Teeing up the Talia al Ghul appearance
In the midst of everything that is coming up with “Arrow” in between the arrival of Vigilante, the 100th episode coming up in a matter of weeks, and the epic superhero crossover that is specifically coming along with that, it is understandable to miss a few of the finer details somewhere in there. This includes the appearance of Talia al Ghul, a casting that was first unveiled a little bit earlier this fall.
So where are we going to see her? While it may be somewhat surprising given where we are at right now, Stephen Amell claims (per TVLine) that this is someone you are specifically going to see during the flashback story as opposed to in the present day:
“We learn about Talia before we meet her — and she is, I think, our gateway to really accelerating the flashback storyline.”
Sound fascinating? It certainly is to us, and it does pose a rather interesting question: Is Talia was around during Oliver’s time in Russia or after that prior to getting home to what was then Starling City, why wasn’t she ever mentioned? Why not broach that subject a little bit more? This is certainly a great question, but unfortunately, it’s not one we’ve got an answer to just yet. We do know that within the DC Comics universe, Talia is probably more notable, especially to Batman fans, than even her sister Nyssa is. For the record, we’d also love to see Katrina Law back on the show sooner rather than later as that character, even though it could be a little trickier given that neither Lance sister is currently a major part of “Arrow” and she was closest to Sara and Laurel.
Then again, Katie Cassidy does still have a further role to play in this universe. Fingers crossed…
