‘Homeland’ season 6 trailer: Carrie comes to New York City
In past years around this time, we’d be having the rather-wonderful opportunity to be able to see some new episodes of “Homeland” on Showtime. Unfortunately, this year marks a change of plans. The network opted to put another season of “Shameless” on the air in the fall, which meant that the Claire Danes series would be held back until the winter. We know that it is currently filming in New York City, and we’ve got some further evidence specifically of what to expect now in the new trailer below.
Let’s make a point to all other major networks out there: This is how you deliver on a trailer. It’s longer than a minute long, it delivers on the aesthetic, and it also provides you with a small sense as to what is coming up in the story. With Carrie back home in America, she will have a chance to start again once more. What she will uncover along the way is that doing so is much more easier said than done. There will be eruptions of tension between her and other characters, there will be new threats, and with a President-elect and a lame duck at the center of much of the story, it will also feel fairly timely, even if the new President is in office by the time the episode airs.
As for Peter Quinn, there are only two things we want to say right now, as to not give too much away on the upcoming story:
1. He is alive – We’re assuming you already knew that, but consider this more verification that the show not writing out Rupert Friend from the series.
2. Carrie is in New York in part for him – This is one of her motivating factors for being back home. This isn’t confirmation that the two are romantically intertwined, but that possibility is there.
