‘The Flash’ season 3 video: Keiynan Lonsdale on Kid Flash transition

When the third season of “The Flash” premieres on The CW Tuesday night, there’s going to be a new speedster in town, and this time around, it’s thankfully not another villain. We’re going to see through the Flashpoint Paradox Wally West be Kid Flash, which as it turns out is a name that he completely despises. (Can you really blame him?)

This is a move that we assumed would be coming eventually, but we have to admit we’re rather shocked that we’re getting it now! Then again, this is a show that hasn’t really stalled too much on any reveal, given that we’ve also met Killer Frost and Vibe already in some form.

In the video below, Keiynan Lonsdale talks a little bit about getting to put on the costume and be a speedster, and we’re sure for many fans the biggest surprise is learning that the actor is Australian! We don’t think that this is rude so much when someone says this; in many ways, it’s a compliment to the actor for being able to disguise their natural accent so much.

What we wonder moving forward this season is whether or not we are going to see Wally continue to carry the torch for Kid Flash once we get out of this Flashpoint story. We do know that Barry will end up altering some things about the timeline thanks to what happens in this world; personally, we’d like to see him further open up this possibility, but we don’t want to overwrite the story that Wally has had so far.
