‘Doctor Who’ star Peter Capaldi will appear on spin-off ‘Class’
Great news for those of you who were looking for a further tough of the familiar in the “Doctor Who” spin-off “Class”: The Doctor himself will officially be making an appearance!
In a new post on the show’s official Twitter, the BBC Three series made it clear that Peter Capaldi would be guest starring in some capacity in the show’s first episode, which is going to air on Saturday, October 22. In a statement, the actor had the following to say:
“The Doctor Who family is growing, and it’s fantastic to be able to welcome the young new cast of Class in to the Whoniverse.”
Meanwhile, the network also offered up a few more details about the first episode:
“It’s a new term at Coal Hill Academy, and students are preparing for their Autumn Prom. But when the school comes under attack, four alienated students must form an unlikely alliance to defeat them. And this incursion is only the beginning.”
We do think that the spin-off is coming out with a great deal of ambition, and also a few interesting ideas to go along with it. Creating a series for young adults is a great way to get more people involved in the universe, and in turn convince people to use their imagination to the fullest.
Unfortunately, we still do not know when “Doctor Who” season 10 will premiere, but it will at some point in 2017. Who knows? Maybe at some point one of the characters from “Class” will have a chance to stop by and stir things up even more.
