‘MasterChef’ season 7 finale preview (exclusive): Brandi visits home
The two-hour finale of “MasterChef” will be coming your way on Fox Wednesday night, and based on the sneak peek below, we’re going to have a chance to see a very different side of our remaining home cooks. Rather than focus exclusively on their time in the MasterChef Kitchen, we’re going to be heading to hometowns to see where they come from and how much they can look towards those roots for influence.
We equate what the show is doing here to when “American Idol” does the hometown visits late in the game — you get some love from those close to you, and in turn that motivates you to take on just about everything coming down the line.
What Brandi mentions specifically in this preview is that for some of her final food this season, she wants to marry some of the refinement she has learned during her time on the show with some of the local cuisine she’s perfected over the course of her life. This is probably the sort of chef she would be after the series, someone who could take rustic food to another level while still keeping that love in there.
While we would consider Shaun to be the favorite to win the show in terms of past successes in the kitchen, Brandi may be the emotional favorite going into the finale — or at least that’s how we see it. She’s got a great story, and it’s hard to imagine anyone being upset over someone like her taking the grand prize home. We’ll have a chance to see what happens soon, and we’ll be back with full coverage!
