‘Ray Donovan’ season 4, episode 12 (finale) spoilers: Danger in ‘Rattus Rattus’

This week, “Ray Donovan” is setting the stage for an exciting finale in seven days’ time, and one that could prove to be a game-changer in a sea of them for the show. Ray is going to be looking for a way to finally free his family from harm, but unfortunately, there’s a good chance that he could bite off a little bit more than he can chew.

“Rattus Rattus” is the title of the finale, and for those wondering, that is the scientific name for the black rat. Given that there have been and will be many rats within this world, that certainly feels appropriate! Meanwhile, the synopsis below offers up a little bit more information regarding what you can see (via TV Guide):

“In the Season 4 finale, Ray, hoping his deal with Hector will be his family’s salvation, learns that Sonia has turned over incriminating evidence to FBI agent Frank Barnes. Ray is forced to wear a wire, but decides to play the Russian mob off the FBI, but things take a dangerous turn. Meanwhile, Mickey’s attempt to cash in on the big fight leads him to a discovery that could help Ray against both sides.”

By the end of this finale, we figure the stage will be somewhat-set for a fifth season, which should be premiering next year. It wouldn’t surprise us if Ray ends this season on a particularly terrible note, mostly because it would give the writers something to try and unravel further over the course of the coming months.
