‘Teen Wolf’ season 6 spoilers: A particularly chilling tease on the story ahead
The sixth season of “Teen Wolf” will be premiering on MTV later this fall, and with it being the final year of the show, it made some sense for the series to mix things up. We’re not going to have an arc this time around where there is blood and death all over the place. Yet, at the same time it feels like the story may be doing something that lingers far longer than a body hitting the floor.
We heard some time ago that the Ghost Riders (no, not the one played by Nicolas Cage, or the one appearing on “Agents of SHIELD” this fall) were going to be the principal villains at the heart of this season, and this is something that creator Jeff Davis teased further in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly:
“We’ve had seasons where there’s just bodies dropping everywhere, and we wanted to do something frightening but different … What’s scarier than death? Being forgotten. Being completely erased.”
Of course, everyone is going to have their own thoughts on these villains versus other ones on the show, but being “forgotten” harkens back to a simple concept that is incredibly human, raw, and real: Everyone wants to feel like they have made an impact on the world, and nobody wants to feel as though they have no legacy. Taking that away from somebody so that they are barely a blip on the radar is definitely something that could motivate characters and leave a mark on viewers at the same time.
