‘The Bachelor’: Why was Nick Viall announcement made before ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ finale?
Over the next two days, we’re going to see something suggesting the end of the Nick Viall – Jen Saviano relationship, whether it be on “Bachelor in Paradise” or the “After Paradise” show that follows it. After all, he was already announced to be the next Bachelor, and with that comes confirmation that this relationship couldn’t work out in the real world.
As for why in the world the announcement was made before the end of this season, effectively spoiling the results, it turns out that there is also a fairly clear explanation for that. In a post on Twitter, show creator Mike Fleiss made it clear that the timing was for “casting” purposes, and that makes sense. The series needs some time before the show starts filming later this fall to find some people interested specifically in Nick.
Now, having some women already been cast? More than likely yes, but producers typically try to get a few last-minute additions, while at the same time also making sure that the current crop of contenders are still interested. After all, what’s the point of doing the show if you aren’t interested in the guy?
It will more than likely be near the end of the year when the full cast for Nick’s season is revealed, but we’re hoping that there is a good mix of people. We’re sure that there will be a few former contestants who try to make their way onto this season, but we really hope that this doesn’t happen. Haven’t we had enough of that on “The Bachelor”?
