‘Gotham’ season 3 exec on Bruce Wayne transition

Bruce -

Is Bruce Wayne about to become a spoiled rich kid on “Gotham” season 3? We’re not going to say that precisely, but all early indications suggest that he is going to figure out how to put that image out there for the world a little bit better than he has to date. Bruce is a smart kid, and he’s starting to realize that in order to be the double-dealer and power player he envisions himself as, a little bit of public deception doesn’t hurt anyone.

In setting up what’s next for Bruce in a chat with TV Guide, executive producer Ken Woodruff had the following message to pass along:

“We wanted him to learn how to be a rich kid of Instagram, this sort of ne’er-do-well. We wanted him to learn how to put on that mask of what a lot of people in the public would expect him to be, which is just this rich kid who is privileged … It’s going to be Bruce Wayne acting out a little bit and doing what I would do if I had that much money — going to parties, having fun, hanging out with a different element of kids.”

Let’s just hope that this story proves itself worthy of the extraordinary Bruce Wayne persona who we know very well from the Batman comics. After all, this is someone who we’ve come to know as an infamous Bachelor, and a super-suave and sophisticated guy. We’ve certainly come to see more of the evolution of the Batman persona, so it does absolutely make some sense that tonight, we’d start to see more of the evolution of the man known as Bruce Wayne to go along with it.
